Nido

Nido or Nest (3 months-walking steady)

Created especially for working parents, the Nido is a warm and cozy home environment that places special care in language and physical development. Maria Montessori refers to the child at this period as the spiritual embryo. A second embryonic period occurs after birth during the first three years of life when intelligence is formed, culture and language are acquired, the core of the personality is cultivated, a social being emerges, and the essence of spiritual life is nurtured. The Nido supports independence, psychomotor development and language acquisition.
